Madrid Documentary Film Festival– Afilm International Film Workshops celebrates the acceptance of “Dancing with Dolly” doc at the Ojo Cojo Film Festival- Madrid!
Afilm is honoured to announce DANCING WITH DOLLY, feature documentary film created by Afilm alumnus Charbel Bou-Antoun,, at the Ojo Cojo Documentary Film Festival in Madrid.
Shot in Agra, India, and currently in final stages of postproduction, Charbel shares Dolly’s story, a 14 year old girl who at the age of 12 was attacked with acid and has come to terms with her disfigurement with the help of other survivors who also share their empowering stories. Charbel, originally from Lebanon and residing in London, studied film at Afilm in Sitges, Spain (Introduction to Filmmaking & Digital Feature Film programmes), where he co-wrote and co-directed his first feature film ‘Dancing Dogs’ in 2012,( Premier, Sitges International Film Festival). Since then, he has worked on music videos and short films in Tokyo, Japan. Afilm Studio is a proud collaborator of this project.
